Temu ships to you, so a Temu rep spreadsheet is just a shopping list

Every guide about agents, link conversion and QC photos stops applying the moment a platform ships to your door. Temu does. That makes its spreadsheets a completely different object.

TL;DR

Temu sells directly to consumers outside China and handles its own international shipping, so a Temu spreadsheet involves no agent, no link conversion and no QC stage. It is a curated shopping list. The trade-off is that you get Temu's catalogue rather than the whole of Taobao.

Priced at source, before Temu's own margin

Temu ships to you directly and sets its own retail price, so nothing here is a Temu price. It is what the goods cost from the supplier — useful for judging whether a Temu listing is competitive or whether the convenience is being charged for twice. Anything you spot here we can supply direct, at the price the goods actually leave the factory for.

Every row is a real listing and every photograph is the supplier's own, self-hosted rather than hotlinked. Column four is model-level fact — the year, the designer, the material or the sizing behaviour — not a category description. Where a name identifies no specific model, it says so with the measurement that actually transfers instead of inventing a story.

Anything above, at the factory rate. Send a screenshot, we quote it, you pay, it ships — single units at wholesale, better on volume, 6–12 days to most of Europe and the Americas.

Why this page is short on process

Most of what is written about buying from China assumes the agent model: find a link, convert it, pay a middleman, wait for warehouse photos, consolidate, ship. None of that applies to Temu. You add to cart and check out, the way you would anywhere else.

So the honest answer to "how do I use a Temu spreadsheet" is that you open the links and buy things. What deserves explanation is not the process but what you are giving up and getting in exchange.

Verdict: if a spreadsheet's links point at temu.com, do not run them through a link converter. There is nothing to convert — the platform already reaches you.

What direct shipping actually costs you

Convenience is priced in, and it is priced in two places.

The catalogue is curated, not complete

Temu lists what Temu has onboarded. Taobao lists what millions of Chinese sellers list. For anything specific — a particular colourway, a specific factory's version of something — the odds of it existing on Temu are simply lower. This is the real limitation and no workaround exists.

The margin is in the price, not a fee

There is no service fee because there is no service. The platform's cut sits inside the listed price. Whether that lands cheaper than an agent route depends entirely on the item, and for low-value goods where freight dominates, Temu's consolidated logistics frequently wins outright.

The QC gap is the one worth understanding

The agent model's genuine advantage is that somebody photographs your item in a warehouse and holds it until you approve. You get to reject a wrong size or a visible glue line while returning it still costs a few dollars in domestic Chinese shipping.

Direct platforms have no equivalent. What arrives is what you get, and your recourse is the platform's returns policy after the fact — which is a real protection, but a slower and coarser one than looking at photographs before anything crosses a border. If precision matters on a specific item, that gap is the argument for going the long way round.

What "no agent" removes besides the fee

Losing the agent removes a service, not just a cost. The agent is a Chinese-speaking party standing between you and the seller who can ask questions, request photographs, chase a delay, and refuse a parcel on your behalf.

With Temu, the counterparty is a support system rather than a person with a stake in your order. That is faster for routine transactions and thinner when something is unusual — a size question a Taobao seller would answer in a sentence has no obvious route to an answer. It is a real trade, and it favours Temu on simple purchases and the agent route on anything requiring a conversation.

Why the prices look the way they do

Temu's pricing confuses people because it does not behave like a marketplace. On Taobao a price is set by a seller who needs to cover costs. On Temu, pricing is substantially managed by the platform, which sets terms with suppliers and subsidises visibility to win customers in markets it is still entering.

Two consequences follow that are worth building into how you read a Temu spreadsheet. The first is that prices move for reasons unrelated to the item — a find at one price this month may be materially different next month, in either direction, which makes a Temu sheet stale faster than a Taobao one despite nothing about the product changing.

The second is that the very cheapest listings are frequently the ones where the platform's economics have been pushed hardest, and quality follows. This is not a claim that Temu is low quality across the board; it is a claim that within Temu, an item priced far below its neighbours is usually priced that way for a reason rather than as a bargain someone else missed.

Verdict: read a Temu sheet as a snapshot rather than a price list, and treat the extreme low end of any category with the same scepticism you would anywhere else. The convenience is real; the arithmetic still has to work for somebody.

When a Temu sheet is the right tool

  • Low-value, high-volume basics where freight would dominate an agent order.
  • First purchase from China — no agent account, no conversion, no learning curve.
  • Speed — one to two weeks against three to six.
  • Anything you do not need to inspect first.

And when it is not: specific models, particular colourways, anything where the QC stage earns its keep. That is where the Taobao route exists.

The bits that trip people up

What is a Temu spreadsheet?

A shared list of temu.com product links — a shopping list rather than a conversion queue. Temu sells directly to consumers outside China and runs its own international shipping, so no agent, no link conversion and no warehouse inspection are involved. Parcels typically land in 1–2 weeks where an agent route takes 3–6, and the trade for that speed is a curated catalogue rather than a complete one.

Do I need an agent for Temu?

No. Agents exist to bridge Taobao, Weidian and 1688, which deliver to mainland Chinese addresses only; Temu already reaches your door, as DHgate and Alibaba.com do. What goes with the agent is the inspection stage — nobody photographs the item and holds it for your approval — along with the option of combining orders from different sellers into a single parcel.

Can I use a link converter on Temu links?

No, and there is nothing to gain from trying. A converter pulls a product ID out of a Taobao, Weidian or 1688 URL and rebuilds it for 40 buying agents across 13 URL format families. A temu.com address carries no such ID, and no agent lists Temu as a source platform, so running Group B rows through a converter is the most common wasted step here.

Is Temu cheaper than using a Taobao agent?

On low-value goods where freight dominates, frequently yes, because Temu consolidates its own logistics and the platform's cut sits inside the listed price rather than in a service fee. Against that, one 2 kg agent parcel to the US costs $22–32 on EMS and can carry a whole haul. For a specific colourway the comparison rarely arises, since Temu will not stock it.

Do I get QC photos with Temu?

No. Photographs taken at a warehouse, with a right of refusal before dispatch, exist only in the agent model — that is what the extra steps and the 3–6 week wait buy you. With Temu what arrives is what you get, and your recourse is the returns policy after delivery. Platform-managed pricing also moves independently of the product, so a Temu sheet dates faster than a Taobao one.
