Sorting the evidence by how good it actually is
Search this question and you get two kinds of page. One insists nothing has happened and sends you to CNFans. The other insists it has collapsed and sends you somewhere else. Almost none carry a date or name where they got it, which is the tell — a claim about an operating status with no date and no source is not a claim, it is a mood.
Here is everything we have, sorted by how much weight it can carry.
Confirmed by CNFans, in writing
CNFans' own affiliate dashboard carries a notice to its partners: 自2026年1月22日起,新生成的推荐订单将不再支付佣金 — from 22 January 2026, newly generated referral orders will no longer pay commission. It frames this as consolidating resources and optimising its operating structure, thanks past referrers, and says it intends to introduce other reward schemes later.
That is a primary source: the company stating its own policy in its own console. It is the strongest evidence on this page and it says one thing only — CNFans stopped paying people to send it customers.
Confirmed by looking
CNFans was open and working on 16 August 2026. Storefront live, search working, account logged in, dashboard rendering. Whatever else is true, it had not closed and it had not stopped serving accounts on that date.
One source, not confirmed
That new Weidian orders stopped on the same day, 22 January, and that the creator roster was released that week. This comes from a single secondary write-up. CNFans has not said it, and we could not stand it up independently. If you buy Weidian through CNFans, check one order before you rely on it — but do not treat it as settled, because we do not.
Not true, and worth naming
The raid. There has been no raid on CNFans, no warehouse seizure and no reported enforcement action of any kind. That was PandaBuy, in April 2024, and the two get merged constantly. Part of it is that the stories rhyme. Part of it is that "the agent got raided" travels much further than a date does, and by the third retelling the brand name has swapped.
Why the agent in the URL was never the valuable part
Open any row of a CNFans sheet and look at what is actually in the address. Something shaped like ?shop_type=taobao&id=675330534906. Two things: a platform name, and a number.
That number is the seller's listing ID on Taobao. It belongs to the seller. CNFans never owned it, never issued it and has no ability to revoke it. The domain around it is a wrapper — an instruction to one particular agent saying "go and buy this". Swap the wrapper and the instruction goes to a different agent. The item does not move.
This is why a CNFans sheet, a MuleBuy sheet and a raw Taobao sheet are the same document wearing different clothes. It is also why the converter above can take any row from any of them and hand back the other thirty-nine. Whoever built your sheet picked an agent once, years ago, for reasons that had nothing to do with you.
Why so many pages suddenly decided CNFans was finished
Look at the timing. The confirmed event is that CNFans stopped paying commission on 22 January. The wave of "CNFans is dead" content is date-stamped to roughly 21–23 January. Those are the same three days.
That is not a coincidence and it does not require anybody to be lying. A large number of the sites and accounts writing about buying agents were being paid by CNFans right up until that notice went out. The morning after, the same audience was worth nothing to them from CNFans and something from whoever else was still paying. You do not need a conspiracy for the tone to change; you need an incentive, and one arrived on a Thursday.
We are in the same position and it would be dishonest not to say so. CNFans pays us nothing. One agent further down our own comparison table does. So take the specific check you would apply to anyone else and apply it here: what is the source, what is its date, and who is paid on the answer. On this page the source is CNFans' own console, the date is 22 January 2026, and the only thing it establishes is a commission change.
What to do with the sheet, in order
- Do not rebuild the whole thing. The links are not broken. If a CNFans row does not load for you, convert that row rather than rewriting the file.
- Convert on demand, not in advance. Paste a row into the tool above at the moment you want to buy it. Rewriting 400 rows onto whichever agent is fashionable this month is how sheets die twice.
- Test the ID before you judge the agent. Paste the row and open the plain Taobao or Weidian link the converter shows. If that is dead, the seller delisted the item and no agent on earth can fetch it.
- Pick the destination on current data. The comparison table carries a dated status column for exactly this reason, and CNFans is still in it.
- Save the source URL from now on. If you maintain the sheet, add a column holding the raw Taobao, Weidian or 1688 address next to each agent link. It takes one paste per row and it makes the file permanent.
Weidian rows, which are the only ones with a question mark on them
If your sheet is a rep or W2C sheet there is a good chance a large share of it is Weidian, because Weidian is where the small independent sellers in this category actually operate. Those rows are the only part of your file touched by any version of this story, and only under the single-sourced claim above.
The practical test takes two minutes and beats reading another opinion: put one Weidian row through CNFans and see whether it accepts the order. If it does, the claim is wrong and nothing needs doing. If it does not, paste the row into the converter and pick another agent — every other agent in the tool takes Weidian.
One formatting note while you are in there. Weidian IDs appear in URLs as itemID=, capital I and capital D, and it is the single parameter people most often mangle when editing a link by hand. Convert rather than edit. The Weidian page covers the rest of that format.
What this episode should change about how you read agent recommendations
CNFans is, by review volume, the most heavily evidenced agent in this category — thirteen thousand three hundred Trustpilot reviews, more than four times the next-largest sample. It is also, right now, the one it costs the industry nothing to write off. Those two facts sitting together should tell you how little the writing tracks the evidence.
Two habits come out of that, and they are worth more than any table.
Ask what the source is, and how close it sits to the company. A statement in a company's own console beats a blog post about the company, which beats a video about the blog post. Most of what circulates in this category is the third thing.
Ask who gets paid on the answer. Including here. The reason this page tells you CNFans is open, when CNFans pays us nothing and one of its competitors pays us something, is that it is open — and a comparison you can only trust when it flatters our own interests is not a comparison at all.
The dead agent links page exists because in April 2024 an agent genuinely was seized and thousands of spreadsheets became unusable overnight, for everyone who had stored wrappers instead of numbers. That is a solved problem now. It only stays solved if you actually store the number.
